Starting February 1, 2025, in accordance with NBM Regulation No. 12/2024 on Strong Customer Authentication and the secure, open communication standard between payment service providers, OTP Bank is introducing Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) to improve transaction security and prevent fraud.

What is Strong Customer Authentication?

It’s a security standard mandated by the European Directive 2366/2015 on Payment Services (PSD2).

How does it work?

SCA enhances online transaction security through additional identity verification measures, contributing to:

- Increased protection of bank accounts and funds
- Reduced risk of online fraud
- Protection of personal data

It requires at least two of the following three authentication factors:

- Something you know – e.g., password, PIN
- Something you have – e.g., phone or authentication device (token)
- Something you are – e.g., fingerprint, facial recognitio

  1. Make sure your contact details are up to date to receive confirmation notifications
  2. If you don't have the OTP Mobile Banking app yet, you can download it from Google Play or Apple Store
  3. Set 3DSecure Biometrics directly in the OTP Mobile Banking app
