OTP Bank announces the completion of a comprehensive project to modernize its automatic teller machine network by equipping them with contactless (NFC) technology. Currently, approximately 90% of the bank's ATMs are equipped with this functionality, placing OTP Bank at the forefront of the banking sector in the Republic of Moldova regarding the adoption of this innovative technology.

In a context where over 98% of physical payments at merchants are made contactless, OTP Bank expands this modern experience to ATMs, providing customers with a faster, safer, and more convenient interaction.

The benefits of contactless technology at ATMs include:

• Cash withdrawal with a simple touch of the card, without the need to insert it into the ATM;
• Elimination of the risk of forgetting the card in the ATM;
• Transactions that are up to 40% faster;
• The ability to use digital wallets such as Google Pay and Apple Pay;
• Reduction of the risk of fraud through ATM skimming.

The upgrade process targeted Wincor Nixdorf and Diebold Nixdorf terminals, contributing to the expansion of OTP Bank's digital infrastructure and strengthening its position as an innovator in the banking services sector in the Republic of Moldova.

At the same time, because sustainability is a priority, the new ATMs rank among the top in terms of low energy consumption and operational reliability. Furthermore, the extensive cash storage capacity allows for a significant reduction in the frequency of cash handling, thus optimizing operational efficiency.
